Skateboard formation how it works and why we do it.
In order to form a skateboard concave right a few steps or factors must be addressed. Pressure, mold and glue are the three key elements that require attention. Without the right pressure the plys of wood will not come together properly and risk delaminating. The mold is key and if not made right can also put more pressure in some places and not enough in others. It is always best to have the same even pressure from nose to tail of a skateboard when it is in the press. Glue without it we would not have skateboards. The glue step is important and two major factors must have a close eye on it at all times. First would be the right amount without the right amount of glue the board is subject to delaminating. Delaminating can also occur due to lack of glue. Second is the time it takes to spread the glue on each seven layer of a skateboard. If the glue does not go on fast enough then it will dry and will cause delaminating. To much glue will just be money thrown in the trash. You would be amazed on how much glue is used to make skateboards. We use over 100 gallons of glue a week.
